ClickUp personal API token — connecting, List statuses and time entries
The ClickUp connector shows tasks from your Workspace, lets you comment on them and change their status, and writes work time as a real ClickUp time entry. In the app the role of a project is played by a List — in the filters it is called "project".
Time goes to ClickUp as a time entry. Before sending, the app checks whether the task already has such an entry, so a repeated delivery from the offline queue (for example, after the connection drops) does not double the time.
Attachments are not supported — you cannot attach files and photos to a ClickUp task from the app.
How to connect
- In ClickUp issue a personal token: Settings → Apps → API Token. Workspace administrator rights are not needed. The token does not expire and starts with
pk_. - In the app open Settings → Organizations → your organization → Integrations → "+" (or Settings → Connectors → "+" for a personal connector).
- Choose ClickUp.
- Paste the personal API token and tap Connect. You do not need to enter an address — ClickUp has a single cloud for all customers.
- If you need the "+" button, specify the List for quick creation (its id) in the integration settings: ClickUp has no default List.
ClickUp has no way to issue a token with reduced permissions: the token acts on your whole account, not just on tasks and time. Keep it like a password.

ClickUp specifics
- Every List has its own statuses. Automatic status change on GPS start, timer start and completion is configured by status name; the name must exist in the task's List. The app checks it against the List's statuses and warns you if there is no such status.
- Address and mileage are written to ClickUp custom fields: a location field for the address and a number field for the mileage. The fields are created in ClickUp manually (they cannot be created through the API), and their ids are entered in the settings. More in "Tracker fields".
- Task members are not notified: the app writes start notes and shift reports without notifying all members of the task.
Compatibility
- Cloud ClickUp — the only option, the product has no on-premise version.
- Since September 2024 ClickUp does not serve users from Russia — this is a vendor restriction, and the app does not work around it.
